Reboot!

Awesome… I’ve finally got a new look for space-scape.

The theme you’re looking at is something of an evolutionary leap from my old site; last updated over 5 years ago and still visible for the moment at www.space-scape.co.uk to give you some context.  In fact, as a special treat - take a look at my first proper portfolio site from back in 2001: http://www.space-scape.co.uk/archive/mk1/ !

It’s based on the Thematic theme framework, and while the design has mutated over the last couple of years of procrastination - the actual design and coding of this here Wordpress theme has only taken a couple of weeks of spare time.  In fact - the thematic framework and Child theme concept are so simple to work with - the custom css only took an evening and a morning to produce.

If you click through a couple of pages, you’ll notice a few elements change as you go.  I wanted an almost infinitely variable feel to the theme.  Again, evolving from the old site’s use of background photography, but more in keeping with the less structured, more organic feel of the modern web.

It will evolve no doubt, as i tinker with it… it’s so simple, it’s going to be hard not to!    But for now I’m going to let it find it’s feet, and see how it fits.  I hope to put together a post documenting the design journey i took to get here, including details of the custom aspects of the implementation.

Feedback welcome!

Your Theme Looks Great! The use of background images is absolutely stunning! One thing tho… I don’t see what I’m writing in this text box… it’s white text on white background! :) Cheers!
